All the ales on offer are live and popular - they are supplied in Firkins ('barrels' containing 72 pints, of which about 68 are drinkable) and have a life, once opened, of less than 5 days.
The last few pints in a barrel going off rarely happens - the barrels are often 'dry' after only being open for a day or two. At busy times, a barrel has been known to last less than a day.
